Description
Thales is hiring an Entry-Level Accounting Specialist in Overland Park, KS. This role reports to the Financial Controller and covers essential functions in the accounting department.

 Pay rate: 20 USD per hour

Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including processing invoices, cash receipts, and supplier payments (wire, ACH, check).
 -  
Perform reconciliations for A/R, A/P, and Intercompany accounts.
 -  
Support month-end close activities and government reporting (e.g., Sales & Use tax, Wide Area Work Flow).
 -  
Maintain A/R, A/P, and other financial records.
 
Assist with collection activities and process employee expense reports.
 
 Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field with 1+ years of experience OR Associates degree in Accounting or related field with 3+ years of accounting work experience OR High School diploma with 6+ years of accounting related work experience
 - Experience with oral and written communications
 
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a billing/AR/AP business environment
 - Experience with government compliant accounting systems and practices
 - SAP ERP is a must
 - SAP ECC preferred
 - Knowledgeable with GAAP, FAR, DFAR, CAS
 - Excellent organizational skills and work ethic
 - Experience managing multiple projects
 - 3-5 years of experience working with computers and Microsoft office applications
 - Must be a US Person as defined in applicable law
