Accounts Payable Specialist
$27-$28 per hour
Troy Michigan
Hybrid work schedule – 2 days in office
Temporary – possible to hire

Awesome opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join this finance team. This role will focus on supporting accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and resolving outstanding vendor issues. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a customer service mindset, and a drive for process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with vendors, Purchasing, and Receiving teams to resolve outstanding accounts payable issues.
  • Process invoices in Oracle to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within accounts payable.
  • Monitor, track, and report on accounts payable issues, providing status updates as needed.
  • Assist with payment processing, reconciliations, SOX testing, reporting, and vendor maintenance as required.
  • Document and refine accounts payable processes to improve efficiency and compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Support ad hoc reporting and special projects for senior management.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical skills to identify issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
Preferred/a plus not a must:
  • Experience working with ERP systems, especially Oracle.
  • Background in a Shared Service Environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices in accounts payable.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus.
