Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an Analytical Laboratory Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients, a leader in analytical assessment for the petroleum, mining, minerals and biofuels industries, at their Ferndale, WA facility. Workplace: Onsite in Ferndale, WA
Position Title: Analytical Laboratory Technician
Position type: Contract-to-hire
Pay rate: $25-30 per hour
Training and Work Schedule: Training  Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, then transition to three possible shifts.
Day – 8 am 5 pm
Swing – 3 pm 11:59 pm
Night – 12:01-8am

Laboratory Technician – Analytical Services (Ferndale, WA)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory testing on petroleum and chemical samples following established industry methods and safety protocols.
  • Prepare samples and operate a range of modern analytical instruments to generate accurate, high-quality test results.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and perform basic troubleshooting on laboratory equipment to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
  • Accurately document procedures, data, and observations in laboratory information management systems (LIMS), supporting traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure timely and efficient workflow.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and assist with maintaining laboratory standards.
  • Learn and adhere to laboratory safety regulations and policies to create a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a laboratory or technical environment strongly preferred; recent graduates in scientific disciplines encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with sample preparation, analytical instrumentation, and laboratory best practices is a plus.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high standards for data quality and documentation.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
  • Adaptable team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
