2nd Shift: $22.00/hr

Weekend Shift: $24.40/hr (includes 22% shift premium — base rate $20.00/hr)
We are seeking an Assembly Operator III to work directly with fiber optic products. This role is responsible for the assembly, termination, testing, and inspection of fiber optic cable assemblies and connector components. The Assembly Operator III may also support new product introductions, prototype builds, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, adapts well to changing priorities, and demonstrates a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role requires excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Primary Responsibilities-
Polish, test, assemble, and package fiber optic cables and connector components

Terminate single-fiber and multi-fiber cable assemblies

Operate fiber routing equipment and perform over-molding processes as needed

Support prototype builds, test builds, and pre-release New Product Introduction (NPI) activities

Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools

Complete required documentation to ensure full product traceability

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs when necessary

Follow proper cleaning methods and contamination control procedures for optical assemblies

Perform EFG and IPC workmanship checks on single and multi-fiber termini

Safely operate manufacturing equipment, including use of E-Stop and Soft Stop functions

Assist with estimating process step durations and production timelines

Recommend process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality

Communicate effectively within a team environment to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction

After a 30-day training period, work with limited supervision while meeting quality and productivity standards

Inspect own work using quality standards, work instructions, and engineering prints
-
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety guidelines and TE policies
-
Be accountable for personal work quality and respect confidential information
-
Work overtime as required to support production goals

Perform duties in a clean room environment while wearing required gowning and PPE
-
High School diploma or GED preferred
-
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience with knowledge of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity principles

Minimum of 1 year of fiber optic manufacturing experience preferred
-
Experience with SAP Manufacturing systems and ISO 9001 preferred
-
Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for intricate and delicate assembly work

Working knowledge of hand tools and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings preferred

Ability to work with small components using a microscope in a clean room environment
-
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously

High attention to detail and ability to follow bills of material, routers, and drawings
-
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively to meet production goals

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
-
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
-
Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

Ability to operate machinery and move between work zones as required

Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing required PPE (gowns, shoe booties, hair nets, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes)

Must be proficient in reading and understanding written instructions in English
