Assistant Maintenance Manager – Georgetown, KY
We're hiring an Assistant Manager of Maintenance to join our client's team in Georgetown, KY! This is a direct hire position, offering full-time stability along with a comprehensive benefits and vacation package upon hire.
- Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000+ (depending on experience)
Role Summary:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager by overseeing equipment upkeep, ensuring machinery safety, minimizing downtime, and driving quality and productivity standards across the facility.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of maintenance staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and address employee concerns promptly and constructively.
- Manage pay adjustments and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations for production equipment, facilities, and buildings.
- Supervise preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate with production leaders on priorities.
- Develop and manage budgets related to maintenance, facilities, vendors, and supplies.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor bids, proposals, and work orders.
- Drive continuous improvement through problem-solving, process development, and change management.
- Maintain working knowledge of all facility systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatic controls, mechanical, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and hazardous waste regulations.
- Schedule and document inspections, repairs, and safety training as required.
- Manage parts and tool inventories to minimize downtime.
- Promote and enforce a safe work environment by proactively addressing hazards.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Associate degree preferred but not required.
- Hands-on knowledge of maintenance systems in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
