Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Buyer for Juncos, PR with $11.60 per hour salary, to join our team. Under direct supervision, you will be responsible for the placement of purchase orders for various commodities, supplies, or services to support our organization. You will play a vital role in ensuring timely procurement and inventory control activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Place purchase orders for various commodities, supplies, or services in support of the assigned organization.
  • Process requisitions by researching products and suppliers, clarifying specifications, and documenting cost savings.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules, provide order information, resolve invoice discrepancies, arrange returns, check receipts, follow up on back orders, expedite with suppliers, and communicate delivery dates to end users.
  • Contact specified suppliers to verify prices, delivery schedules, and terms of purchase.
  • Locate a minimum of three suppliers for price comparisons when no supplier is specified.
  • Utilize the computerized Amgen Management Operating System (AMOS) for order placements.
  • Maintain various databases as required and ensure compliance with Purchasing Policies and Guidelines.
  • Analyze inventory reports to anticipate shortages and logistical needs, maintaining inventory at predetermined levels.
  • Monitor existing orders to ensure on-time deliveries and communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules and cost concerns.
  • Review back-orders, purchase orders, production schedules, and ETAs regularly, and communicate supply chain information to other departments and management.

Education/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED with 2 years of directly related work experience; OR
  • Associate's degree with 6 months of directly related work experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and application of purchasing principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using software to determine material and service needs.
