Audio Engineer - Product Support Engineer

Temp to Hire - $40 to $65/hr

Commercial Audio Manufacturer is looking for an experienced audio engineer with system design and troubleshooting skills to provide designs and design assistance to our nationwide dealer and customer base. The position will also include assisting in developing local products for the US market and providing help desk support.
Office casual attire (jacket and tie not required). Some travel may be required for trade shows. Approximately 5%.
Experience required-

  • BS in electronic engineering or related field and/or minimum 3 years' design experience in audio or telecommunications technology.
  • Experience with Project management of installations is a plus.
  • Excellent command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint is required.
  • The candidate will use the following tools to design both audio and audio over IP systems-
    • General electronics knowledge
    • Knowledge of IP audio, especially related to SIP interfaces, codecs, protocols, etc.
    • General audio knowledge (SynAudCon, CTS a plus) and familiarity with industry standard texts (example: Sound System Engineering by Davis, Petronis Jr., Brown) and the mathematics involved.
    • Working knowledge of Wireshark and ability to interpret results.
    • Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD (AutoCAD LT)
    • Working knowledge of EASE Standard (v4.74/v5.2) and ability to interpret results.
    • Working knowledge of EASE Evac (current version) and ability to interpret results.
The successful candidate will be able to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner that non-engineers can understand.
Language skills-
  • Conversational Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • This is a Japanese owned company. Conversational Japanese will greatly enhance your value as a candidate.
