Carpentry Laborer – Pontiac, MI
We're hiring a Pattern Shop Associate to join our team in Pontiac, MI! This is a full-time, direct hire position offering stability along with a comprehensive benefits package upon hire.

  • Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift
  • Salary Range: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)

Role Summary:
The Pattern Shop Associate is responsible for creating wood patterns, fabricating metal tools, and supporting production with high-quality fixtures. This role ensures tools and patterns are accurate, safe, and production-ready while maintaining inventory and documentation in compliance with ISO procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Produce wood patterns for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • Convert aluminum foundry castings into production-ready tools.
  • Create, modify, and repair fixtures used in thermoformed plastic component production.
  • Support production teams with tools and fixtures created by the Pattern Shop.
  • Maintain accurate ISO and procedure-driven documentation.
  • Perform and document calculations and measurements to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain inventory of items required to complete daily jobs efficiently.
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment in compliance with safety standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficient with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, steel rules, etc.).
  • Experience with pneumatic and power tools (band saw, table saw, disk grinder, die grinder, 90-degree drill/grinder).
  • Bridgeport milling machine experience preferred but not required.
  • Own tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measures) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge with team members.
