Job Title: Part-Time Rural School Bus Driver; Will Train and Help obtain Class B CDL
Location: Northwest MO
Department: Transportation
Job Summary:
The Part-Time Rural School Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and school-related events. This role requires adherence to traffic laws and schedules while ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to interact positively with students and parents.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport students to and from school, designated stops, and school-related activities.
  • Adhere to assigned routes and schedules, making timely stops at designated locations.
  • Ensure the safety of students while boarding and exiting the bus, and supervise their behavior during the ride.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding route changes, delays, or safety concerns.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner, providing first aid if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents that may occur.
  • Enforce rules of conduct on the bus to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
Qualifications:
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement. (Will train and Help obtain Class B CDL)
  • Clean driving record and background check.
  • Completion of a state-approved school bus driver training program.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
