Project Manager, Clinical Operations

  • Opportunity: Direct Hire
  • Reports to: Senior Director, Clinical Operations and Science
  • Location: Hybrid - Marietta, Georgia (Must be on-site Tuesday/Wed/Thursdays)
  • Salary: $130-150k annually, 20% potential bonus, competitive benefit offerings including 401k matching day one and paid medical benefits for employees

Kelly Science & Clinical is hiring a Project Manager for one of our clinical-stage biopharmaceutical clients. This client is developing novel recombinant human proteins designed to break the cycle of injury and inflammation for patients with respiratory and inflammatory diseases. The company has successfully completed two hospital-based, in-patient Phase 1b trials and is currently executing a global pivotal Phase 2b/3 trial.

The Project Manager (PM), Clinical Operations, will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of all areas of clinical trial management across several countries. The role includes managing day-to-day activities beginning with trial startup and planning, through clinical conduct, and ending with the completion of all closeout activities. The PM will be accountable for multi-center studies, managing vendors (CROs), reviewing trial plans, and ensuring compliance with SOPs while collaborating with executive management.

Key Accountabilities
  • Trial Management: Lead the clinical trial process (start-up through closeout) according to GCP and corporate standards. This includes site feasibility, qualification, vendor performance management, and internal metric development.
  • Compliance: Ensure all studies are conducted in accordance with protocols, government agency regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and internal Quality Systems.
  • Strategic Execution: Drive the progress of studies in line with company goals; recommend execution and risk mitigation alternatives to management.
  • Vendor & Site Oversight: Lead the evaluation and selection of CROs and investigational sites; manage clinical site contracts and budget reviews.
  • Documentation: Assist with writing protocols, informed consents, and SOPs. Ensure the Trial Master File (TMF) is maintained and archived per ICH-GCP guidelines.
  • Financial Oversight: Review clinical trial-related invoices in a timely and accurate manner and maintain budget trackers.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Work with operations and unblinded supply chain teams to ensure accurate management of study-related supplies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present trial-specific updates to executive management and cross-functional teams.

Expectations & Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience
  • In-patient study experience or hospital trial project management experience required
  • Respiratory or Pediatric study experience required
  • ICU/NICU experience preferred
  • Life Science BS degree or Medical Degree/Certification required
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of US regulations and guidelines governing clinical trials.
  • Certification: Current GCP Certification is required.
  • Critical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Communication: Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills; ability to maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of team members.
  • Attitude: A constructive, positive professional demeanor with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
