CNC Milling Machine Operator Needed!
Shift: 1st
Rate of Pay: $19-23/hr DOE
Location: East Syracuse Summary/Objective:
The CNC Milling Machine Operator is responsible for producing precision-machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine. This role ensures quality and safety standards are maintained, records are accurately kept, and proper lubrication levels are sustained throughout the production process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC milling machines, monitor performance, detect tool wear, and perform basic maintenance including lubrication checks.
- Interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, and production documentation.
- Load raw materials into the machine feed mechanisms and verify proper positioning.
- Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.) to inspect parts at designated intervals.
- Document production data, inspection results, and complete job-related paperwork.
- Ensure accurate part counts and recordkeeping in accordance with job traveler requirements.
- Detect and report equipment malfunctions or deviations in part quality to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain product quality by monitoring operations and adjusting machine settings as necessary.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues per manufacturer's guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all safety standards, procedures, and use of PPE.
- Participate in training programs and apply new skills to improve job performance.
- Maintain clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
- Support ISO quality processes and utilize the Syteline MIS system effectively.
- Collaborate with other shifts by communicating job status, issues, and requirements.
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring parts as needed during machine cycles.
- Accept additional tasks or responsibilities as directed by supervisors.
- High school diploma, BOCES, or technical school graduate.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating CNC or manual milling machines.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and using precision measuring tools.
- Familiarity with production documentation and part inspection processes.
- Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision machining tasks.
