Job Title: CNC Machinist I, II, and III (1st and 2nd Shift)
Location: Plymouth, MA
Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shifts Open
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Type: Temp-to-Perm

Shifts available: 
1st Shift: 7am ~ 4pm
2nd Shift: 4pm ~ 12am

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Machinist II to join our Production team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling machining processes using statistical and quality tools, performing minor setups, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. You'll play a key part in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste and enhancing standardization on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret part prints, operation control plans (OCPs), and job routers for specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, inspection criteria, and tooling instructions.

Operate CNC machinery through production cycles, adjusting tool positions and performing tool changes as needed.

Review machine settings including cycle time, speeds, and feeds to ensure optimal performance.

Inspect machined parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) per specifications.

Maintain proper lubrication and cooling of workpieces during machining.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and TPM standards.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts such as Area Improvement Teams (AIT) using standardized tools and methodologies.

Set up repeat jobs on CNC machines.

Troubleshoot minor issues related to tooling, CNC programs, fixtures, or machinery.

Understand basic CNC programming and machine tooling concepts.

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving items ranging from 10–50 lbs.

Sound mechanical aptitude demonstrated through experience or testing.

Technical Requirements
Proficient in basic CNC troubleshooting and machining principles.

Able to perform minor setups (e.g., setup on a 3-axis milling machine or relocating a setup).

Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation.

Proficient in the use of precision inspection tools.

Education & Training
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.

Preferred Experience
2+ years of experience in a machining role within a manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
