Job Title: Sr. CNC Machinist III (1st Shift - DIRECT HIRE)
Location: Plymouth, MA

Pay Rate: $28.00~$33.00/hour (Higher Depending on Experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Highly Skilled Machinist to monitor, control, and improve machining processes. This role involves using process control tools such as control charts and statistical capability analysis, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, standardizing operations, reducing waste, and maintaining optimal production efficiency. The machinist will perform new product setups, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineers and CNC programmers to improve processes and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation & Setup

  • Read and interpret part prints, OCPs, job routers, and tooling instruction sheets (TIS).

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, adjusting tool positions, speeds, feeds, and cycle times as needed.

  • Perform new product setups from start to finish with minimal supervision.

  • Assist CNC programmers with product in-loads, providing tooling and fixture recommendations.

  • Quality Control & Inspection

  • Inspect products per control plans and technical drawings, including advanced GD&T features.

  • Ensure proper lubrication and cooling during machining processes.

  • Provide feedback during prove-out processes to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Diagnose and resolve CNC machine issues with minimal assistance.

  • Maintain work areas following TPM and 5S standards.

  • Identify and address problems related to materials, scheduling, and production documentation.

  • Continuous Improvement & Leadership

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Area Improvement Teams (AIT).

  • Propose process enhancements to reduce cycle time and improve product quality.

  • Train and mentor lower-level machinists, offering technical guidance and problem-solving support.

    Skills & Qualifications
    • Strong CNC troubleshooting ability and knowledge of machining principles.

    • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, including GD&T (bonus tolerances, true positions, datum structures, and planes).

    • Proven mechanical aptitude (documented experience or testing required).

    • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

    • Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with management on production challenges.

    • Physical ability to lift and/or move 10–50 lbs frequently.
