CNC Leader
Grand Rapids, MI
Kelly Services in partnership with a key manufacturing, is seeking a CNC Leader to join our client's team on 1st and 2nd shift. As a CNC Leader, you will be responsible for the programming, setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC Swiss lathes and mills. This role requires the precise production of parts to meet stringent quality standards.

Details:

  • 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Thursday, with occasional Fridays.
  • 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday - Thursday, with no Fridays typically required.
  • $23 - $29/hour

Key Experiences:
  • Minimum of 2 years of precision machining experience.
  • Experience operating CNC Swiss lathes and mills.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Programming experience is a plus but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Setup, adjust, and operate CNC machines to ensure production of parts meets close tolerances and finish specifications.
  • Maintain and perform routine upkeep on machines.
  • Implement and maintain 5S principles in the machining area.
  • Review production orders to meet delivery schedules and promptly communicate any issues to supervisory personnel or scheduling.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality parts with minimal defects by identifying and addressing potential issues early.
  • Monitor and control costs by reviewing tooling, maintenance, and other operational schedules to identify potential savings.
  • Exhibit professionalism with punctuality, fairness, respect, and honest communication with team members.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of precision machining experience.
  • Competence in operating CNC Swiss lathes and mills.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments.
  • Ability to make minor tooling adjustments and replacements.
  • Understanding of programming codes and ability to make minor adjustments.
  • Familiarity with GD&T.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated support for company goals and initiative in work activities.
