Job Title: Construction Technician (Direct Hire)
Location: Pontiac, MI (Travel to job sites across Michigan; occasional travel to Ohio)
Pay Rate: $18–$25/hr, based on experience and certifications
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
About the Role
This customer is seeking Construction Technicians to join our growing team. We have opportunities for both entry-level candidates eager to learn the trade and experienced technicians with proven skills and certifications in electrical, plumbing, or related construction fields. Technicians report daily to our Pontiac office, then travel in company vehicles to job sites (primarily in Michigan, with occasional travel to Ohio).
Pay & Experience Guidelines
- $18/hr – Entry-level candidates with little to no trade experience but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Up to $25/hr – Experienced candidates with multiple years in the field and relevant certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing).
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general construction systems.
- Prepare work areas, set up safety barriers, and ensure tools/materials are ready.
- Participate in preventative maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Accurately document work activities using company-approved methods.
- Represent MEM Construction with professionalism in all client interactions.
- Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Continue learning through company-provided training to develop trade skills.
Requirements
- Ability to commute daily to Pontiac office.
- Willingness to travel to job sites across Michigan; occasional overnight travel to Ohio.
- Must provide a personal basic tool kit (drill, hammer, screwdrivers, etc.); company will replace worn tools over time.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Pontiac office.
- For experienced rate: multiple years of construction/trade experience and relevant certifications.
