Kelly is seeking a Controller to work with our client, the North American division of a global manufacturer, on a direct hire basis! This is an excellent opportunity to work for a privately and family-owned organization that feels small on the local level but is backed by strong international success!
The Controller will:
- Manage all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and purchasing
- Handle general and sub ledger accounting & analysis (AR and billing, AP, revenue recognition, operating expenses, inventory and COGS, accruals, insurances records, payroll, fixed assets)
- Coordinate and prepare month-end closings and year-end closings
- Be responsible for internal and external financial reporting
- Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliation with HQ and other subsidiaries
- Lead all financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Outline and implement company-wide budget plans
- Coordinate internal and external audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls
- Oversee insurance and risk management
- Assess company spending and work to reduce costs
- Prepare diverse tax returns (corporate tax, state tax, sales tax, payroll tax)
- Handle all cost accounting
- Hire, train, retain, and supervise finance staff
- Supervise and coordinate physical inventory count
- Manage the collection and analysis of actual vs. budgeted costs on a monthly basis
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure accuracy of accounting
- Know and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports
- Demonstrated experience in financial external and internal audit
- Demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization
- Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
