Position Overview:
The Controls Project Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning automation systems with a focus on Beckhoff TwinCAT and Omron Sysmac platforms. You will lead projects from concept to completion, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver world-class controls solutions.
Responsibilities:

  • Program, configure, and commission automation systems using TwinCAT (Beckhoff) and Sysmac Studio (Omron).
  • Design PLC, HMI, and motion control architectures tailored to project requirements.
  • Develop technical documentation including functional specifications, I/O lists, and panel layouts.
  • Conduct onsite and remote troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interface with clients for technical reviews, updates, and onsite support.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience programming Beckhoff TwinCAT and Omron Sysmac controls.
  • Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Structured Text, Ladder, Function Block).
  • Experience with industrial networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, etc.) and motion control solutions.
  • Familiarity with electrical design tools and schematic development.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with robotics or vision systems integration.
  • Knowledge of safety PLCs, servo drives, and automation protocols.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification a plus.
