Department Assistant
Temporary to potential full-time opportunity
Pay rate: $18.44
Job Summary:
As the Assistant to the Director of Admissions, you will play a vital role in assisting with the initial processing of 3,000 pre-doctoral applicants for review. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure the smooth operation of the admissions process.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify the receipt of confidential documents, including academic transcripts, standardized exam scores, letters of evaluation, and application fees.
  • Communicate with applicants to update their statuses, answer questions, and schedule interviews.
  • Provide phone and online support regarding application statuses and the dental program, including information requests, scheduling counseling sessions, and relaying messages to admissions counselors.
  • Assist in coordinating in-person visit days and open houses, including preparing name badges, ordering catering, and managing event logistics.
  • Collaborate with the Student Services department to support orientation activities and the white coat ceremony.
  • Proofread and edit correspondence, reports, and records related to the application process and review.
  • Run reports and export data, as well as format Excel spreadsheets for the admissions committee's review.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of secretarial experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel spreadsheet applications and Word Mail Merge functions.
