Description

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic proficient in Heavy Equipment Mechanic for one of our premier clients for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity. Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and one on-call weekend per month. Pay rate is $36-$40 per hour and is based on experience. You must have your own tools. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance through accurate equipment inspections using a specific checklist.
  • Utilize your knowledge and experience with diesel engines, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot various heavy equipment, including forklifts, trucks, and wheel loaders.
  • Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Utilize computer maintenance programs to charge out parts and track equipment services.
  • Read and interpret parts and service manuals for equipment as needed.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years as a mechanic specializing in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in electrical, drive train, engine, and hydraulics.
  • Experience with diagnostic-related software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with various heavy equipment brands such as Cat, Hyster, Ottawa, Terberg, and John Deere.

Education:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Any related certifications or training (Electrical/Mechanical) is a plus.

  • General knowledge of maintenance practices.
  • Safety-first mentality.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively.
