Job Title: Document Controller (Hybrid – GMP Manufacturing Support)
Location: Parsippany, NJ (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to report early to support manufacturing shifts
Overview:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing both GxP and non-GxP documents, including hands-on work with electronic document management systems (EDMS), especially Veeva Vault. This position plays a critical role in document issuance, review, approval, archival, and compliance to ensure accurate and accessible documentation in support of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate, issue, track, and reconcile GMP-controlled documents such as batch records, logbooks, worksheets, SOPs, and forms in both hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Coordinate document lifecycle activities using Veeva Vault (or other EDMS) including routing for review and approval.
  • Digitize and archive original hardcopy records in compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain periodic review schedules for controlled documents within the EDMS.
  • Support the transition from Qumas to Veeva by migrating existing documents and ensuring accuracy.
  • Interact cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, validation, and training teams to ensure seamless documentation processes.
  • Assist with document updates, format revisions, and ensure alignment with GMP standards and company SOPs.
  • Maintain site documentation per applicable retention policies and ensure timely availability for audits and inspections.
Required Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in document control within a regulated manufacturing environment (GMP/GxP).
  • Proficient with electronic document management systems (EDMS); Veeva Vault experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a Document Controller.
  • Experience with Documentum, Qumas, or similar EDMS platforms is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting active plant operations and understanding the documentation needs of a manufacturing site.
  • Familiarity with GxP documentation other than regulatory submissions (e.g., validation protocols, APRs, controlled forms).
