Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer
Location: Glen Arm, MD

Salary Range: $100,000-125,000
- Design, develop and implement all aspects of electrical control systems related to equipment and machinery for the corrugated box industry. Responsible for the design, installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Create project enhancements to existing HMI systems, monitor and troubleshoot equipment in the field. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is provided.
- Perform design and engineering functions in accordance with accepted practices and company standards.
- Prepare project scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates for small projects. Assist in gathering field data and preparing project specifications.
- Documentation of system, software, and configuration processes.
- Design, develop, and coordinate all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Program, simulate and test automated machinery and processes.
- Support the Service Department with machine fault resolution and related controls issues. Service needs may develop in the evening, weekends, or holidays and travel up to 20% to support installations, breakdowns and other service-related issues
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or related field required. Experience in lieu of education can be considered.
- Minimum five years' experience with machinery or factory automation.
- Minimum 5 years' experience designing industrial motor control cabinets for heavy machinery equipment
- Autonomously engineer new modular machinery designs and concepts
- Knowledge of UL, CE, and/or CSA compliance
- Proficient with B&R, Siemens, and/or Rockwell/AB PLCs
- Proficient with structured text
- Network experience including the configuration and troubleshooting of industrial ethernet routers and switches preferred
- ePlan experience a plus
- Experience designing power distribution systems and drive/motor applications
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and accurately follow mechanical drawings and schematic diagrams
- Judgment to independently create and accomplish individual goals.
- Results oriented, product focused, excellent ability to work with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
- Ability to seek out information and research solutions to complex problems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
