Salary Range: $120K-$130K (+Full Benefits Package)
SUMMARY
Kelly Engineering is recruiting for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our client's team in Hanover, PA. You will be part of an established company, esteemed for its leadership in the automated machinery manufacturing industry, boasting over 90 years of business with a worldwide presence. Your role entails crafting control systems tailored to customer specifications for custom machinery. Concentrating mainly on electrical detailing and documentation, you will also focus on developing and revising control systems for optional features of existing machines. The ideal candidate should possess robust electrical design skills complemented by a thorough understanding of mechanical machine design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support new and existing machine designs during start-up, troubleshooting, and correction phases on the assembly shop floor, and follow up on machine performance in field conditions to enhance the designs and functionality.
- Assist with generating sketches for machine or process concepts.
- Develop timing and sequencing diagrams, alongside design calculations to fortify concepts and processes.
- Design electrical control systems and create corresponding drawings that adhere to relevant standards for machinery in response to customer specifications, utilizing PC and CAD predominantly.
- Program PLC and motion control systems primarily concerning new options for existing equipment or specific machine segments.
- Engage in some mechanical design work.
- Participate in limited travel to consult with customers before machine sales or for installation, start-up, training, or machine servicing, as well as to vendor sites for product evaluation or training.
- Draft documentation for machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Lead each project to full completion.
- Analyze and test electrical components for appropriate selection concerning cost, machine needs, and application.
- Prepare and verify electrical diagrams and documentation ensuring clarity and easy interpretation by customers and internal personnel.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as determined by the Engineering department.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is necessary.
- Internship experience is preferred.
- Proven electrical design skills are essential.
- Proven electrical troubleshooting skills are critical.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of mechanical machine design is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including domestic and international trips.
