Electrical Engineer
Kelly® Engineering is seeking Electrical Engineers (Levels III–VI) for multiple direct-hire opportunities with a defense contractor that designs & builds cutting-edge aerospace and autonomous vehicles. OVERVIEW:
Our client develops advanced autonomous aerial platforms and next-generation unmanned flight technologies used in high-performance, mission-critical environments. Their engineering teams push boundaries, delivering precision-engineered systems in a fast-paced, highly innovative environment.
Multiple openings are available across levels III–VI, with opportunities focusing on the design & development of PCBs, wiring, and other low-level electronics. You will work as an individual contributor that leads your own projects from concept, design, prototyping, testing, design verification, release to production, and root cause analysis for production issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design & development of low-level electronics that include component selection, PCB design & layout, microcontrollers, harness circuits, harness routing.
- Develop schematics, wiring diagrams and documentation
- Develop and debug microcontroller systems and circuits (mainly analog)
- Work with mechanical & software teams to integrate electrical systems
- Work with manufacturing to troubleshoot hardware issues and to close out unresolved non-conformance issues.
- Mentor junior engineers (for senior-level roles).
- Maintain thorough technical documentation and ensure designs meet industry standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
All levels of Electrical Engineers (III-VI)
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
- Strong competency with PCB design & bring up that includes:
- Schematic capture
- Circuit development
- Component selection/design, placement & layout
- DFM
- Microcontrollers
- Signel & power integrity
Electrical Engineer III–IV (San Luis Obispo only)
- 5+ years of electrical or hardware engineering with a strong focus on PCB & circuit design
- Experience leading own projects
- Hands on skills, either prototype development or manufacturing of PCB or other electronics
- Experience supporting system integration and hardware troubleshooting.
- Industry experience in avionics, aerospace, autonomous systems, if a plus
- Knowledge of wire harness circuit development or routing, testing or manufacturing
Electrical Engineer V–VI (San Luis Obispo & Ft. Worth)
- 10+ years of electrical design & development engineering experience, with at least 5 years in aerospace or unmanned aerial systems
- Record of leading development projects including design, development, and testing
- Project Management
- Deep expertise in PCB development, analog/digital circuit design, wire harness production, system-level electrical integration, and testing
- Demonstrated leadership in technical decision-making, mentoring, or project execution.
