Title: Electronic Security Technician
Locations: Virginia Beach, VA
Position Type: Contract to Hire (5-month contract to hire)
Contract Pay Rate: $25-29/HR
SUMMARY
Kelly Engineering is seeking qualified Electronics Security Technicians for our client in Petersburg, Virginia. They are a full-service security and resiliency solution integrator. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs, services, and troubleshoots, access control and CCTV equipment and systems.
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards with a focus on quality customer service
- Install cabling and card readers, mount equipment, door contact and strikes, intrusion detection, CCTV equipment, and access control systems
- Use diagnostic equipment/software and established troubleshooting techniques to isolate equipment failures and resolve performance issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications
- Manage and maintain proper material inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Knowledge in CCTV/IP Video Systems, Access Control Platforms, Intrusion Systems and Low Voltage Electronics (5V-56V)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in the electronics field, with commercial access control and CCTV
- Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM; additional work, including on-call, may be required
- Must maintain a satisfactory background record
- Must be willing to travel
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crawl
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift and move items over 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders and elevate in lifts and bucket trucks
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
- Must be able to work in various conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold
