Job Title: Enamel Stoning Associate
Department: Manufacturing
Location: Attleboro, MA
Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor
Pay Range: $19.00–$20.00/hour (DOE)
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:45 PM
The Enamel Stoning Associate is responsible for all aspects of the stoning process, including preparation, application, and project completion. The role ensures high-quality output in line with company standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Remove excess hard-fired enamel using wet grinding wheels to expose lettering and details on brass and nickel silver items (1–5 inches).
- Remove excess plastic epoxy using dry sanding belts or abrasive wheels, ensuring detailed and precise finishing.
- Cut, shape, and polish precious and synthetic gems.
- Position rough stones in holders and use diamond-dust-impregnated tools for cutting and slitting.
- Shape stones using abrasive compounds and ensure accuracy through detailed examination with magnifying tools.
- Polish stones using felt or canvas-covered wheels and compounds like tripoli or rouge.
- Adhere to company quality standards, policies, and safety protocols.
- Maintain positive relationships within the team and foster a collaborative work atmosphere.
- Ensure the work area is safe, clean, and organized.
- Perform additional duties and provide team support as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proactive problem-solving and results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, when needed.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Routine tasks involve occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Regular use of hands and arms to operate tools, push, pull, and grasp objects.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Visual and Mental Demands
- Work is routine and consistent, requiring some visual focus over periods of time.
Work Environment
- Potential exposure to heat, dust, and other minor inconveniences.
- Expected to comply with all PPE and safety protocols.
- Some exposure to hazards requiring attention to safety practices.
