Title: Estimator
Location: Petersburg, VA
Position Type: 5-month contract to permanent hire
Contract Pay Rate: $38-42/hr+ and Benefits Package
Conversion Salary: $80K+ and Full Benefits Package
Overview: Our client is looking for an Estimator for a position located in Petersburg, VA. They are a full-service security and resiliency solution integrator. They provide systems and services, integrated into solutions, for the protection of important industry sectors including critical infrastructure, government, commercial organizations, people, and facilities. Continuing that support through the design and installation of systems including physical security, video surveillance, perimeter detection, power, SCADA, intelligent transportation, communications, cyber security, and others to give you long term protection. Responsibilities:
- Creating professional proposals to include scope of work and pricing
- Partnering with Project Managers and Customers during the design and installation phases
- Performing site surveys and attending meetings to obtain necessary information to formulate design/scope for project estimates
- Developing labor, equipment, and material estimates, including quoting and itemizing bills of materials
- Drafting scopes of work in coordination with operations personnel
- Conducting material product research and specifications sheet documentation
- Participating in project design review sessions when requested
- Working with material vendors for project special pricing requests
- Coordinating with purchasing department when ordering materials for awarded projects
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a successful estimator in the security, IT or other technology sales industry or installation experience/training in access control systems, low voltage wiring and CCTV systems.
- Working knowledge of low voltage hardware and devices (installation experience a plus).
- Good understanding of network protocols
- Familiarity with using AutoCAD or Visio for design drawings
- Must be able to read construction drawings.
- Be able to pass a Department of Criminal Justice Background Check
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM; additional work may be required
- Must possess and maintain a satisfactory background record
- Must be willing to travel on a limited basis as needed
