Kelly Services is partnering with a local client who is seeking a dependable Extrusion Press Operator to join their team in Glens Falls, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical mindset and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
As an Extrusion Press Operator, you'll operate specialized equipment used to produce high-quality metal strip and wire products. You'll work closely with skilled technicians in a supportive environment where safety, communication, and continuous improvement are top priorities. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the extrusion press and supporting equipment
- Set and maintain billet heater/furnace temperatures
- Ensure correct material labeling and segregation to prevent alloy cross-contamination
- Inspect and maintain extrusion dies and stems
- Use hand and power tools, including saws
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Accurately document production data in ERP systems and work orders
- Keep your workspace clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety procedures and promote a safety-first culture
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Prior experience with heavy machinery or in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude; able to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Self-motivated and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable working with high-temperature equipment
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
