Fabrication Quality Engineer
- Location: Dubuque, Iowa (52001)
- Type: W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY arrangements will be considered)
- Pay Rate: negotiable depending on direct related experience up to $35–$40/hr
- Duration: 12 month contract (Estimated to end 3/2027; contract extension potential)

Key Responsibilities:
- Support quality activities in fabrication in the Skid Steer boom, main frame, and pre-paint operations to ensure adherence to standard work and safety protocols.
- Perform in process quality checks and audits according to established guidelines.
- Document non conformances and initiate containment steps when defects are discovered.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to manage suspect material and ensure proper disposition.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards, weld requirements, and inspection criteria.
- Work with inspectors and welders to identify repeat quality issues and drive resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Weld Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment—preferably fabrication or welding.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and find root cause.
- Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection criteria, and non conformance documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working closely with operators, skilled trades, and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with welding processes, fixtures, jigs, and fabrication tooling.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (Lean, 5S, ergonomic assessments, etc.).
- Experience working in a union environment
