Job Type: Temp to Hire Job Description Lead Porters-Maintenance will play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our facility. If you are passionate about keeping spaces clean and organized, this role is perfect for you! What's in it for you:
- Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday with opportunities for overtime (possible weekends and holidays).
- Starting Hourly Pay: $16.50
- Maintain and manage all waste recyclables and solid waste, both internal and external, of the factory.
- Learn to lead others and work as a team.
- Responsible for factory property from fence line to fence line and external fence.
- Oversee training and cross-training for employees to ensure optimal coverage for each department's jobs and supervision while personnel are away.
- Actively participate in daily safety briefs.
- Contribute to hiring and disciplinary decisions following established Company policies.
- Identify key skills by area of responsibility (Blending UHT, aseptic filling, etc.) for a successful operator/maintenance technician.
- Meet with Leads and supervisors for input and sign off on evaluations.
- Assess and deliver training in your area of responsibility.
- Evaluate training effectiveness by identifying competency gaps each week.
- Resolve trainee issues/complaints or escalate them to the Training Coordinator.
- Complete trainer evaluations with trainees after qualification.
- Submit evaluations and JITs with required signatures to the Training Coordinator weekly.
- Drive operational training with new hires to reduce training cycles.
- Conduct a mixture of classroom and on-floor training.
- Utilize training aids for better quality training.
- Conduct JIT Validation for employees returning to machines they haven't operated for more than 6 months and for RTW employees.
- Facilitate gaining Team Qualification status for operators.
- Assist Manager, Supervisor, and Leads in tracking team Skills matrix.
- Trained in the Nestle Health Science HACCP program to identify critical steps and their instructions for effective implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Plan.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Basic proficiency in the English language to comply with verbal directions, signs, policies, and procedures.
- Proven knowledge of area of responsibility (Process/Filling, etc.) with at least 1-2 years of experience.
- At least 6 months of Forklift experience required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
- Experience developing training aids and documentation.
- History of good safety and quality performance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to work in different extreme climates (cold, hot, outdoors, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task and flex schedule as necessary to achieve Training Department goals.
- Physical stamina to handle manual labor tasks.
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Good communication skills (written & verbal).
- Ability to work with and understand SDS and hazardous chemicals.
- Willingness to learn new skills and roles to advance within the company.
