Fitness Center Assistant Manager

Kelly Services is seeking an Assistant Manager, for the Fitness Center at a prestigious University in the city of Cleveland, Ohio.


  • Pay: $19.41 per hour. Temp to hire opportunity.

    Must be able to work afternoon, evening and weekend shifts. 

    Responsibilities
  • Oversee the quality of customer service and operations at the Center. This includes directly supervising designated staff members and ensuring overall staff, building, and operations management.
  • Training, monitoring, and evaluating staff members, as well as maintaining a high level of member satisfaction, retention, and enrollment.
  • Responsible for efficiently managing all areas of fitness center operations, including the front desk, recovery zone, housekeeping, and babysitting.
  • They serve as a supportive and enthusiastic promoter of the University Fitness Centers and its policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management: Supervise, monitor, and assist staff members, assigning duties as needed. Lead by example and motivate the team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Interview, train, evaluate, and manage payroll for staff members. Provide ongoing training, development, and address performance issues as needed.
  • Facility and Building Management: Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and operational. Conduct regular inspections to maintain standards, enforce policies, and ensure member and guest safety. Coordinate day-to-day operations, including scheduling, laundry, and member/guest supervision. Address facility needs and handle emergency situations efficiently.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure high-quality customer service, member satisfaction, retention, referrals, and new member recruitment. Promote member participation, answer questions, and engage with members, guests, and prospective members. Promote programs, services, and promotions at all times.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as opening/closing the building, overseeing Point-of-Sale (POS) operations, managing inventory levels, and conducting staff evaluations and payroll.
Qualifications
 High school education and 3 years of supervisory/ management experience OR Bachelor's degree and 1 year of supervisory/ management experience.
