Flight Test Engineer Mobile, AL
ONSITE
Long Term Contract Position

Job Summary:

  • Ensure proper execution of ground and flight tests on A220 and A320 production aircraft

Meet the Team:

  • Work in the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facility
  • Engage with production teams on assembly
  • Manage technical information, quality control, and maintenance tasks
  • Focus on health safety along flowlines and flightlines

Working Environment:

  • Located at Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility, Mobile, AL
  • Produces A320 Family aircraft; added A220 line in 2019
  • Part of Airbus's strategy to enhance U.S. aerospace industry and global competitiveness

Your Challenges:

  • Perform ground and flight tests to obtain Certificate of Airworthiness (CoA)
  • Request necessary aircraft configuration and loading
  • Write and sign Flight Order and Flight Crew Report
  • Calculate weight, balance, and take-off data
  • Technically accept the aircraft on behalf of the Captain
  • Ensure technical follow-up of the aircraft
  • Define flight classification and operate systems
  • Fill in Technical Log Book for malfunctions or anomalies
  • Request data processing for flight analysis
  • Manage aircraft through production and delivery phases
  • Collaborate with Ground Test Engineer for smooth delivery

Your Boarding Pass:

  • B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, or aircraft construction engineering
  • 2+ years experience as a Flight Test Engineer
  • 8 years in the aviation industry, Airbus experience preferred
  • Experience with A320 family or other Airbus aircraft
  • Qualified from an EASA-approved Flight Test School
  • Knowledge of Aircraft configuration management rules
  • Current EASA, TCCA, or FAA Class 2 Medical
  • Aviation certification or FFS Simulator experience
  • Experience with AIRBUS manuals and internal procedures
  • Effective problem-solving skills in engineering
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Willing to travel up to 30% internationally and domestically within Airbus network
