Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Flow Cytometry Technologist for a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients, a privately-owned rapidly growing pathology company in Tukwila, WA. Pay rate: $35-54//hour + $6 shift differential for night shift.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5pm-1:30am
Workplace: Onsite in Tukwila, WA.
Overview
This individual performs tests and procedures assigned to the Flow department with proficiency and timeliness. They are responsible for preparing patient samples, efficiently process and acquire data, accurately report results, perform quality control, train new employees, operate/maintain equipment and other duties assigned by the Flow Supervisor.
Responsibilities

  • Analyze requisitions and choose appropriate test panels.
  • Perform immunophenotypic flow assays.
  • Employ flow cytometry principles to determine additional testing.
  • Set up, gate and accurately report flow results of various sample types.
  • Maintain and document instrument performance metrics.
  • Cocktail antibodies, prepare stock reagents and working solutions.
  • Complete daily QA and QC documentation.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with updating laboratory procedures.
  • Participate in weekend On-call rotation (3rd or weekend shift employees exempt).
  • Perform validation/confirmation testing as requested by Flow Director and/or Supervisor.
  • Assist with employee training.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in biological sciences/chemistry or ASCP-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist or ASCP-certified Medical Laboratory Technician
  • High-volume sample preparation and testing in a flow laboratory required.
  • Interact professionally with co-workers, clients, and hospital departments.
  • Use information management and ordering systems.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Perform well under pressure and with high volumes.
  • Possess basic computer skills, type accurately and able to learn new software/equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and proactively report issues.
  • Learn and adhere to policies, procedures and requirements (including PPE).
