Food Safety & Quality Coordinator
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Food Safety & Quality professional to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment that specializes in producing high-quality food products. We are currently seeking a Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Coordinator for a manufacturing facility based in Pembroke, NC. The FSQ Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the facility's food safety and regulatory compliance programs. This individual will work closely with site leadership and the quality assurance team on initiatives related to HACCP, GMPs, traceability, food safety plans, and other compliance-related programs. The role includes oversight of audits and ensuring all processes meet regulatory and customer standards.
Compensation for this position ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and qualifications.
Second Shift: Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the site's SQF Practitioner and ensure certification standards are met and maintained.

Lead internal, external, and third-party audits, preparing documentation and corrective action plans.

Oversee implementation of food safety and quality procedures in alignment with regulatory and customer expectations.

Conduct risk assessments for food safety and threat analysis.

Perform internal audits and provide training or procedural updates based on findings.

Manage continuous improvement initiatives within FSQ programs.

Lead the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) process to address quality and compliance concerns.

Supervise product and ingredient hold/release processes to ensure conformance to specifications.

Investigate customer complaints and prepare detailed reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve FSQ issues and support program integrity.

Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-moving setting.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.

Clear verbal communication skills and ability to train or guide team members.
