Forklift Operator – Building Supplies Warehouse
If you're the kind of person who takes pride in careful, accurate forklift work and enjoys keeping a warehouse running smoothly, this could be a great fit. This role is all about moving building materials like drywall, ceiling tiles, and other building materials, items that require a steady hand and attention to detail.
You'll join a small, friendly crew that values safety, teamwork, and doing things the right way.
Pay: $20–$25/hr depending on experience
Long term opportunity with the potential to go permanent
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 5am - 6am start time. Usually off around 3:30 - 4:00pm.
- Overtime available!
What You'll Be Doing as a Forklift Operator:
- Operating a sit-down forklift throughout the day
- Palletizing products for outgoing shipments
- Working off paper slips, checking SKUs and measurements to make sure orders are correct
- Helping with the occasional walk-in customer
- Occasionally going out on a ride-along to help unload
- Prepping the next day's first shipment at the end of each shift, and prepping following shipments
- Keeping the space clean and organized when things slow down
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Sit-down forklift experience
- Ability to palletize materials safely and accurately
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to a safety first work environment
- Comfortable working in a typical warehouse where the dock door stays open (heavy coats provided)
- Steel toed boots required
- Ability to clean, sweep, and stay productive during slower periods
