Material Handlers needed in the following areas:

  • Bolingbrook
  • Romeoville
  • Joliet
Shifts Available:
  • 1st Shift
  • 2nd Shift
Hourly Rate:
  • $17.50/hr - $20.50/hr
Experience Required:
  • Selected candidates must have REACH TRUCK and/or SIT DOWN FORKLIFT experience
Job Purpose:
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Handle all inbound and outbound freight properly and orderly.
  • Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Responsible for loading, unloading RJW trucks, trailers, and outside carriers safely.
  • Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly.
  • Properly store stock in the warehouse.
  • Provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient warehouse operation.
  • Operate REACH TRUCK and / or SIT DOWN FORKLIFT
  • Use computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks/trailers safely using proper procedures.
  • Work flexible 10 to 12-hour shifts and not afraid of heights.
  • Pick and move stock weighing 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Process outbound cross-dock freight.
  • Store stock properly and maintain organized stacking.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against paperwork for all deliveries.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures, including seatbelt use.
  • Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handle customer products properly and orderly.
  • Report accidents or damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain access to dock doors.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and work with limited supervision.
  • Exhibit good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Be flexible with overtime and shift coverage.
  • Utilize PC skills.
  • Build pallets and break down stock for orders.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse.
Education and Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Warehousing certifications are a plus.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
  • Write reports and correspondence effectively.
  • Present information clearly to managers, clients, and customers.
Computer Skills:
  • Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work comfortably in an indoor environment with physical activity requirements.
  • Work under stressful situations with cognitive skills for multitasking.
  • Maintain 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be in sound physical health.
