Inventory Control Specialist
$19/hour
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: Pooler, GA
About the Role:
As an Inventory Control Specialist, you'll play a key role in managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate records, and supporting warehouse operations. This position is responsible for conducting regular cycle counts to reduce inventory discrepancies and assisting with returns and inbound processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder supplies within authorized limits
- Identify backup sources for high-demand items
- Monitor inventory reports and order cycles for recurring deliveries
- Provide inventory updates to purchasing and inventory control manager
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Accurately track goods received and shipments daily
- Administer and enhance inventory management systems as directed
- Perform spot checks and scheduled audits of physical inventory
- Support annual inventory audits
- Operate forklift as needed
- Oversee returns process and workflow
- Supervise inbound/receiving warehouse teams
- Process inbound receipts using the WMS system
- Complete additional duties as assigned
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of inventory control procedures
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry
- Exceptional organizational skills and self-motivation
- Ability to build professional relationships with external vendors
- Competent in basic math
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with computerized inventory management systems
- Forklift operator certification is a plus
- Able to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to navigate the warehouse and reach items at various heights
