Job Title: Junior Accountant
Location: Chicago, IL – Pilsen, 60608 100% onsite
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000
Hours: 7-4p or 8a-5p

Position Summary: The Junior Accountant will support the Accounting/Finance function for Corporate Coverage Company, which provides accounting services for several sister companies in the recycling and garbage industry. Responsibilities include managing inventory, preparing weekly performance reports, analyzing cost trends, and handling various bookkeeping and accounting projects as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly performance reports for multiple entities.
- Record journal entries related to various entities.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for various entities.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
- Update inventory records and costs.
- Assist with month-end close processes.
- Generate management and trending reports.
- Perform weekly inventory close procedures.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Address short payments and credits on accounts.
- Mentor accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate pivot tables and utilize functions such as VLOOKUP; familiarity with macros is not required.
- Prior experience or interest in the manufacturing industry, including costing, inventory management, and tonnage tracking.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office products.
