Description

Job Title: Laboratory Technician - 3rd Shift
Location: Knoxville TN
Hours: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (3rd shift)
Type: 6+ month contract opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent Laboratory Procedures: Perform, interpret, and troubleshoot lab procedures related to unit and donor suitability testing and other assays as required. Develop proficiency in lab information systems and sample workflows.
  • Analytical Testing: Conduct routine analytical testing using both manual and automated methods. Analyze test results against set controls to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintenance and Quality Control: Complete maintenance and quality control tasks as per standard operating procedures (SOPs). Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and all regulatory standards within the lab.
  • Collaboration: Share information with internal contacts to collaboratively reach solutions and improve processes.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety regulations, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, and rules. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Instrumentation Management: Operate analytical instruments and technical laboratory equipment. Perform and document troubleshooting, calibration, and routine preventative maintenance. Notify supervisors of unresolved instrument issues.
  • Additional Duties: Take on other job-related duties as assigned, including cross-training in multiple departments.

Qualifications:
  • Educational Background:
    • Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) licensure in the State of Tennessee preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution OR
    • Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
