Lab Technician – Medical Device Manufacturing
 Location: Jacksonville, FL
 Type: Full-time, Contract (with potential for extension)
 Pay: $19/hr
 Shift: Monday-Friday, 2nd shift, 3:30pm-2am
Kelly is seeking a Lab Technician to join our client's dynamic team in a regulated, high-quality manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll perform a specialized set of technical and operational tasks supporting the production and packaging of medical devices (contact lenses). You'll be part of a collaborative team ensuring all processes meet GMP, FDA, and ISO compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities-  
Perform visual inspection, operate blister packaging machines, and conduct lens loading and packaging audits.

Operate and monitor autoclaves for sterilization according to established protocols.
 -  
Conduct package integrity testing using designated equipment.
 -  
Maintain lot integrity and documentation to ensure full compliance with GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
 -  
Support process engineering, technical services, and project teams in executing investigational or clinical protocols.
 -  
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for research processes and production activities.
 -  
Perform solution preparation, solution testing, and routine safety/environmental audits.
 -  
Complete basic preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on packaging and sterilization equipment.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred.
 -  
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, or related industry preferred).

Strong communication, organization, and technical documentation skills.
 -  
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and operating lab/manufacturing equipment.

Familiarity with GMP and ISO 13485 practices.

Experience with lab and production equipment such as:

Autoclaves, packaging machines, digital scales (Mettler Toledo), and integrity testing devices.
 -  
Microsoft Office Suite and related software tools.
 
Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
Physical Requirements-  
Ability to perform medium work involving frequent standing, bending, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motion.

Comfortable working with machinery and in a controlled lab environment.
