Kelly is currently seeking an experienced Lead Assembler for a Direct Hire opportunity in Livonia, MI! The Lead Assembler is responsible for the setup, operation, and training of new DLs on the final assembly of all components to create the final products of the Fluid transfer systems according to the blueprints and BOMs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand all components and processes required for the final assembly of the Fluid transfer systems.
  • Able to read blueprints to ensure the final assembly is correct.
  • Provides guidance and instructions to DLs for the safe and productive assembly of all components.
  • Ensures that all parts are built to customer specifications.
  • Reports any and all problems or abnormal conditions to the Shift Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Adheres to all corporate and plant level rules and regulations.
  • Supports an attitude of teamwork and contributes to continuous improvements.
  • Understands the importance of quality and assists in the achievement and maintenance of IATF 16949 certification.
  • Understand the importance of the environment and assist in the achievement and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification.
  • Supports the BTO program.
  • Capable of using micrometers and calipers.

Education and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED or 5 years of service will be given consideration.
  • Demonstrate on a continual basis, the ability to provide leadership and set examples for other employees.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of the respective cell and capable of providing training to other employees.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative and committed attitude toward all employees, management and corporate objectives.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on the manufacturing floor.
  • Decisions are limited to shutting down the process and contacting the Shift Supervisor or Team Leader when the potential exists of producing bad parts.

Work Environment/Work Conditions:
  • Manufacturing atmosphere with long periods of standing.
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor
  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
