Kelly is hiring a Logistics Manager for a Fulltime role with one of our prestigious clients based out in Virginia Beach, VA 23454 (Onsite).


Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location: Virginia Beach, VA 23454 (Onsite).
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work hours – 8 am – 5 pm (Mon to Fri) No OT or Weekend
 

  • The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning the logistics operations for receiving and sending out shipments, including managing transportation of goods.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
     
  • Their role is to make sure that their department meets the general requirements of the company (such as having adequate personnel and provisioning, meeting quality and service standards, increasing sales and profit margins, optimizing operations and purchasing control) and their organization to meet the objectives set. Manage the supply chain.
  • Coordinates and supervises the production, storage, distribution and transport of materials and products.
  • Maximize the efficiency and profitability of logistics operations by optimizing systems, processes, and technology in the supply chain.
  • Design and implement strategic planning for business logistics, warehouse, and transportation of goods and customer service.
  • Identify and assess needs within the supply chain to implement effective solutions and anticipate eventual setbacks.
  • Guarantee high levels of delivery quality, times adjusted to planning and cost minimization.
  • Supervise the planning of transportation, storage, inventory and transit within the entire logistics process of the company.
  • Solve problems in the logistics area to ensure compliance with the planning, minimizing the
  • impact on the delivery and dispatch processes. He takes care of and manages their orders with customers, keeping them informed of their situation. It regulates the stock of products in the raw material warehouse and keeps track of semi- finished and finished products.
  • Track delivery times for suppliers of raw materials and ancillary items. Manage the means of distribution and dispatch to customers
  • Arranging shipping services and establishing relationships with any other companies that will be involved with your company's deliveries.
  • Coordinating with the production department to ensure that needed inventory is ready to be shipped out on a timely basis
  • Overseeing warehouse management, personnel, and supplies to ensure proper handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant regulations applicable to transportation operations, which can be helpful in developing policies for improvement or for avoiding problems with shipments
  • Maintaining current knowledge of all regulations and laws which apply to the transportation industry
  • Scheduling activities in specific facilities according to established procedures, and inputting records into the computer system every day
  • Coaching, mentoring, or otherwise supervising staff engaged in freight operations and maintenance activities, such as receiving personnel, dispatching operators and mechanics on a day-to-day basis
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant regulations applicable to transportation operations, which can be helpful in developing policies for improvement or for avoiding problems with shipments.
     

Education/Experience: 4+ Years of Experience
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Tableau
