Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Machine Designer - EDM Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with wire EDM equipment and a strong understanding of programming and operating versatile, computer-controlled machines. This role involves manufacturing high-precision metal components and tools across various industries, including mold and die manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • EDM Machine Operation:

    • Operate wire EDM equipment that moves along four independent axes to manufacture metal components and tools accurately.
    • Conduct taper cuts on conductive materials, including alloys, superalloys, aluminum, brass, steel, and titanium.
  • Design and Programming:

    • Design and program EDM processes to create prototypes and production runs.
    • Select appropriate wire types (brass wire and coated wire) based on project requirements.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all manufactured components meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of EDM machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with engineering and production teams to develop efficient machining solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to optimize workflow and production processes.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience operating wire EDM machines, with a solid understanding of EDM processes.
    • Familiarity with programming CNC machines and knowledge of machining principles.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and tools.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and quality.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • This position may require occasional overtime and flexibility in scheduling.
