Production Associate Level I – Machining
Pay & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: Up to $24/hour
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6am – 4:30pm

Job Summary
Kelly Services is seeking a reliable and motivated Production Associate for a Level I Machining role. This position operates machines and production equipment to meet quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with limited supervision.

Machining Responsibilities
  • Rotate through various workstations within the machining area
  • Clean cranks and cylinder blocks using power washing equipment
  • Perform detailed inspections of crankshafts and cylinder blocks
  • Manual cleaning of cylinder block surfaces and threaded holes with power tools and abrasives
  • Operate basic polishing machines
  • Use cranes and measurement tools such as bore gauges and micrometers
  • Follow documented instructions and record process results
  • Support problem-solving investigations
  • Skilled operators may run a milling machine
  • Execute all tasks while meeting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements

Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
  • Immediately stop work and report major injury hazards
  • Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards
  • Comply with all HSE standards, policies, and regulations
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Take action to correct hazards and support a safe work environment
  • Participate in HSE training and initiatives
  • Promote team safety and environmental awareness
Quality
  • Follow standard operating procedures and quality controls (SPC, poka-yoke, etc.)
  • Perform quality inspections and identify non-conforming material
  • Ensure all documentation and records are accurate
  • Raise concerns to minimize cost and quality exposures
Production & Maintenance
  • Achieve production goals in line with engineering standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Complete planned operator care and maintenance tasks
  • Stay flexible and perform miscellaneous duties as needed
  • Work collaboratively with peers and support teams to address equipment needs
Teamwork
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with support functions
  • Pursue training and personal development aligned with business needs
  • Take initiative to contribute to safety, quality, and process improvements

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Machine operation experience
  • Familiarity with hand tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks
  • Must meet any applicable export controls or licensing requirements
