Maintenance Mechanic

Kelly Services is seeking a proficient Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair rollers utilized in paper manufacturing machinery to join our clients team. The position requires inspecting, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling mechanical rollers. You'll be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and fabricating parts or tools to aid in maintenance tasks. Applying mechanical expertise, mathematical skills, and troubleshooting abilities, you will disassemble, inspect, diagnose, classify, and organize components. You'll also assess and recommend plans to mend or replace damaged parts and implement upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and diagnose the condition of paper rollers.
  • Measure bearing clearances and install various types of bearings.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Dismantle and reassemble mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools like micrometers.
  • Operate hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Utilize overhead cranes, tow motors, and forklifts.
  • Experience in fabrication, such as welding, machining, and finishing, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of industrial painting is beneficial.
Qualifications:
  • Strong commitment to safety as a fundamental principle and the ability to effectively promote a shared safety vision.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent minimum requirement.
  • Experience in machining, welding, and painting is a bonus.
  • Compliance with safety equipment and PPE requirements.
  • Willingness to develop skills in various areas, including millwrighting, welding, and related fields for versatility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong organizational capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills to independently or collaboratively devise solutions.
