Maintenance Mechanic – 1st Shift (Moscow, TN)
Pay: $21–$26 per hour (based on experience)
Duration: This is a permanent position with benefits 
Shift Options: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM - will be required to stay until 5PM for the shift change sometimes too

A leading manufacturer of high-efficiency heating and cooling coils for industrial and commercial HVAC systems is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our first-shift maintenance team. This position plays a key role in ensuring production equipment remains reliable, safe, and efficient.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery and facility systems with minimal supervision. This includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as some fabrication and welding work. The primary goal is to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment issues.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain production machines, drives, and controls.

  • Work with high-voltage (3-phase) and low-voltage DC electrical systems.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety checks.

  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Troubleshoot PLC systems; programming experience is a plus.

  • Understand and interpret ladder logic; make minor program changes when needed.

  • Repair and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and facility systems as required.

  • Fabricate and weld parts for repairs or modifications (mostly TIG, some MIG).

  • Install and align new machinery and production equipment.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

  • Support and train production staff in basic preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Solid understanding of 3-phase electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Experience troubleshooting machine drives (VFDs and servo systems) and PLCs. 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic diagrams.

  • Basic fabrication and welding skills (TIG/MIG).

Preferred:

  • Experience with PLC programming.

  • Associate's degree in a related field.

  • 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
