SYNOPSIS:
The facility maintenance technician will be a self-motivated individual capable of handling multiple facility tasks. This position is a skilled handyman capable of performing various types of facility related tasks from plumbing and carpentry to basic electrical and HVAC troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities may include supporting fleet management and facility security duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general facility maintenance tasks: typical examples - electrical, plumbing, carpentry, carpet, painting, & masonry repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities: typical examples – change HVAC filters, replacement of batteries, change air filters, etc.
- Perform preventative checks / tests of various fire, safety and security systems: - typical examples – fire pump, fire suppression system, AEDs, Fire extinguishers, burglar sensors, radon, water, air quality, etc.
- Perform general machine service.
- Participate in the building and grounds cleanliness: snow / ice removal, leaves / debris clean up, etc.
- Move furniture, cubicles, and equipment as required.
- Maintain equipment maintenance and service logs in maintenance manager software.
- Knowledge of automation / programmable controls a plus
- Understand and adhere to the processes and policies of the facilities and security management department
- Other facility duties as required
- Demonstrate initiative by understanding what actions need to be taken and completing the required tasks while seeking the perspective of others as required.
- Demonstrate an honest and forthright presence; able to take responsibility for own mistakes while not blaming others; able to fulfill commitments.
- Work as a team player to make a difference within the business and express gratitude and appreciation to others who have provided information, assistance or support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years experience in large facility maintenance operations.
- Ability to read and use engineering drawings.
- Good decision making skills.
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office preferred.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Must have a valid driver's license, and be able to use own/facility vehicle for local trips to Home Depot, etc.
