Job Title: Manufacturing Food Sanitation Associate
Department: Sanitation / Operations
Location: Cato, NY
Employment Type: 4am-Midnight, Monday-Friday and Saturdays are a MUST as needed!
Salary: $23/hr. Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Manufacturing Sanitation Associates to join our team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing daily cleaning and sanitation of equipment, machinery, and production areas to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, hygienic, and efficient production facility. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing of food production equipment, tools, and work areas according to company and regulatory sanitation standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP).
  • Follow daily and weekly Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS).
  • Safely handle and effectively use sanitation chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to follow SSOP's
  • Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment for thorough cleaning, as required.
  • Complete sanitation documentation and records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
  • Identify and report any potential sanitation, pest control, or food safety issues to supervisors.
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding health, safety, and hygiene.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, floor scrubbers, foamers, etc.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, chemical labels, and safety instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing sanitation or janitorial services.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and food safety protocols.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment:
  • Cold, wet, or humid environments depending on production needs.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and machinery.
  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, crouch and climbing ladders throughout the shift.
