Position: Material Handler
Location: Nashville, TN
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Pay: $18+
About Us: Small warehouse dedicated to providing efficient and reliable services to our customers. We are currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to join the team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks manually and with the use of a forklift, following proper safety procedures and guidelines.
- Receive incoming shipments, check for accuracy, and verify quantities against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring efficient space utilization.
- Pick and pack materials accurately based on customer requirements, preparing them for distribution.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
- Operate and maintain forklift equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following proper operating procedures.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including adhering to a strict no-cell-phone-use policy while on duty.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or inventory discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Work independently and efficiently, as the sole person responsible for material handling operations.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 40 pounds, on a regular basis.
- Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift is desired.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and inventory management.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to being on time for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
