Job Title: Material Handler – Supply Chain & Logistics (Appliance Warehouse)

Location: Lancaster, TX
Department: Supply Chain and Logistics
Reports to: Warehouse Manager/Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join our dynamic team in our non-climate controlled appliance warehouse in Lancaster, TX. The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and accurately moving, storing, and managing inventory within the warehouse environment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and supporting the efficient flow of goods throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Accurately receive, label, and store appliances and parts in their designated areas. Ensure proper rotation of inventory and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and move products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Ensure safe handling of appliances, ensuring that items are protected from damage during transit and storage.
  • Order Fulfillment: Prepare appliances and parts for shipment or transfer, following orders and instructions from warehouse management. Verify product counts and condition to ensure that all orders are complete and accurate.
  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure all equipment and tools are in proper working condition. Assist in maintaining optimal stock levels in the warehouse.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products and packaging for damages. Report any damaged or defective items to the appropriate personnel. Perform routine checks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse team members to achieve daily goals. Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, including helping with shipping and receiving tasks, inventory counts, and facility maintenance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Data Entry & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of material handling activities using warehouse management software or manual logs. Report any discrepancies, shortages, or inventory issues to management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or supply chain/logistics preferred.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift for long periods of time.
  • Regularly required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.

Working Conditions:

  • Non-climate-controlled warehouse environment with exposure to noise and dust.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • 1st Shift, flexible schedule and overtime may be required based on operational needs.
