Position: Material Handler

Pay Rate: $20.23 to $30.34

Position Objective:
The Material Handler will provide shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory control, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment at the assigned facility(s).
Essential Functions:

  • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment, ensuring high quality and timely delivery to customers.
  • Receive materials and/or finished goods daily, verifying quality, type, and quantity with appropriate documentation.
  • Operate in a warehouse environment under various temperatures.
  • Safely operate distribution equipment as required.
  • Complete training requirements and adhere to ISO standards related to Distribution.
Nature and Scope:
  • Interacts with internal personnel, requiring excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Requires knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
  • Recognize deviations from accepted practices; accuracy is crucial to prevent delays.
  • Must maintain strong attendance performance and readiness to start work on time.
  • Equipment training provided through several forms including one-on-one instruction and other training documentation.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • 2-5 years related experience, preferably in logistics within a life science company.
  • Must follow policies, procedures, and instructions independently and consistently.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks at various heights.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software.
Working Conditions:
  • Warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from 36-86 degrees F.
  • Physical activities include walking, standing, reaching, lifting up to 25lbs continuously, and occasionally up to 50lbs.
  • May handle packaged hazardous materials.
  • Work requires dealing with moderate noise and varying degrees of stress.
