Material Handler

$18.50/hr
Monday - Friday 6am-4:30pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Transfer raw materials, colorants, and packaging to designated storage areas.
- Respond promptly to requests on the Andon board.
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation and ensure timely delivery to service cells.
- Transfer materials to production lines as required.
- Accurately identify raw materials needed to support production.
- Move finished goods (FG) and work-in-progress (WIP) products from processing to specified locations as necessary.
- Construct skids as required for production.
- Maintain inventory control of raw materials, including weighing materials upon return from production, documenting inventory, and returning items to physical stock.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in warehouse areas.
- Assist in the implementation of the 5S program.
- Participate in monthly inventory assessments.
- Comply with policies and procedures related to facility or divisional standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 14001/45001.
- Crosstrain in all shipping and receiving operations.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be trained and licensed to operate a powered industrial truck, sit down and stand up.
- Proficient in using hand-held scanning devices.
- Familiarity with SAP systems is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Basic working knowledge of computers for data input and retrieval.
- Ability to interact effectively with production cells.
- Capable of completing tasks under tight deadlines while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Work Environment/Work Conditions:
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the manufacturing floor.
- May require working hours exceeding 8 hours per day or 5 days per week.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
